    Truman

I just finished listening to the book Truman (my first Audible book). I was very impressed by the book and really enjoyed it. I never knew what an interesting man Truman was and the many things he had to deal with as president. I think the book once again reflects what my opinion already was, and that is that history will dictate how good a president was. It is to hard to judge the man and what he did the closer you are to the event. I never knew that at one point 43% of America was opposed to the Korean war.

As a side note to this I am a fan of Audible. It is a little pricey for me so I will probably just do the light version. It is a great way to spend your time in the car or great to listen to while working out.

    1776

I just finished reading the book 1776. It is a great book and has given me a great appreciation for what the men in that army had to go through. I also now understand why Washington crossing the Delaware was such a big deal. I don't know if there are many men in this world that would go though the terrible situation they had to go through for a cause that was unknown and do it for 8 years. It is easy for us now to look back and say the cause was great and worth fighting for, but at the time many people doubted it and were unsure. Only a few men like Washington had the vision to understand what they were trying to do.

I am anxiously awaiting the next book (The Glorious Cause: The American Revolution) that I will be reading about this incredible time in our history.
